the BRIEF
Shionogi Pharma Co. Ltd based in Japan wanted to break into the Western Market with their CDMO (contract development and manufacturing organization) solution where they analyse, package and produce drugs. Japanese communications are very understated so my challenge was two-fold, to create a strong brand proposition to help attract businesses from the west and also change how Shionogi Japan communicate in a new direct, hard-hitting way.
insight & IDEA
After looking at different propositions the incredible eco-stance that Shionogi won through. One fact being fish actually swim upriver towards their plants as the water is still so pure and sake is made from the same river. They are a pharma company helping to save lives, but also aim to protect our planet. I used this eco-centric idea and Japanese ink landscapes to create a linear journey through their CDMO offering. This eco-stance story was used in print and a movie for their global events.
